Derek Chauvin trial
Whatever the outcome, I'm always surprised to see that in the US, public demonstrations and press conferences are allowed prejudging the evidence and whipping up an atmosphere which must pressurise the jury. This would not happen or be allowed during a jury trial in the UK..

In the same way I can't see what's going on at Batley Grammar School from ever happening over there.

Fucking bang out of order the way this is turning into the TV event of the year by allowing a full broadcast, it will be the Hollywood movie next!

Going to be a lose/lose for law and order and a win/win for the anarchists and ANTIFA vermin.

He gets let off or light sentence, mass rioting in protest, he gets life in prison, mass rioting in celebration.

Sydney, trust me, there must be a thousand screenwriters out there typing the fuck out of their keyboards. No doubt that deals have already been closed on some.

Anything less than Murder 2 and life imprisonment and Minneapolis will burn down. That’s what Peoples expectations have been built up to and god knows they are already getting twitchy.

Don’t get me wrong Chauvin is a deviant Cop has to go down for what he did but the danger here is that they somehow only convict on a lesser charges of manslaughter or third degree murder that don’t carry the tougher penalties. That ain’t going down well when the mob want the key thrown away.

Drug overdose killed Floyd as he consumed 4 times the lethal amount of fentanyl (he said he couldn't breathe whilst in the police car before being on the ground) I still think it's wrong to apply that much pressure for 9 minutes and I think the officer will get done for manslaughter only. Interesting to see how this plays out

The bloke's a nasty fucker, but no way did he mean to murder him, in full view of everyone, whilst getting filmed. That's ridiculous.

It was manslaughter.

Did the BBC show virtually the whole of the opening statement for the defence, as they did with the prosecution?

Manslaughter is the only verdict that can be returned under the Justice system. Thereafter, await the riots for justice.......

If he gets anything other than manslaughter then you know it's a show trial, done only to appease the rioters.

Didnt see the news but are they televising this trial?

Was reading something about trials that have been televised previously .... OJ Simpson of course, Rodney King, Oscar Pistorious, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy & the baby shaker Louise Woodward

After the trial of the police in the Rodney King case the riots killed 54 people & resulted in 7,000 fires & $900m of property damage.

The US media is head and shoulders above ours. They will get the masses ramped up into a frenzy.

Anything less than 1st degree murder will cause mass hysteria.

Would not like to be sitting on the jury for this one.
